Easy Apple Upside down Recipe

Ingrediants 

  • 1 Envy Apple, cored and sliced thinly

  • 2-4 tbsp honey

  • 2-4 tbsp brown sugar

  • 6 tbsp butter, cut into 6 pieces

  • Dash of cinnamon, optional

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen

  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F/200C.

  2. Cut the puff pastry into 6 rectangles and set aside.

  3. Lay a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray, and drizzle honey into 6 rectangles just slightly smaller than the puff pastry sheets. Divide the brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon if using across the 6 rectangles.

  4. Lay 6 apple slices onto each rectangle, making sure that the apples are overlapping so the skin is not showing.

  5. Cover each rectangle with a piece of puff pastry and gently press down to adhere to the apples.

  6. Brush with the egg wash, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

  7. Let cool briefly, then enjoy as is or with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
